The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded Helping Hands of Georgetown County a $2,500 grant to provide healthy food for clients at their Andrews food pantry.
Each time clients are served by the food pantry, they are provided the equivalent of three days worth of food that includes milk, eggs and protein (meat) along with non-perishable food items. Preference is given to the elderly and those with a disability who can be served monthly.
“We are so blessed by the support of Duke Energy in the Andrews community,” said Brendon Barber, Executive Director of Helping Hands.
“Duke Energy is so happy to serve the Andrews community in this way,” said Mindy Taylor, government and community relations manager for Duke Energy. “This is our fifth year in supporting the Andrews community through Helping Hands, and we are proud to continue our support of this great organization.”
