Dear Friends of Helping Hands,
It is that time again! Palmetto Giving Day is Tuesday, May 5, 2020. This is the largest one day online giving event in Georgetown County. This is the day that you can make a difference. By giving on this day, you will help our ministry to continue providing services to residents of Georgetown County in these unprecedented times. Helping Hands is providing food for those in need and utility assistance to those who have recently lost jobs.
During the pandemic, our Youth Empowerment Program continues to meet twice a week in a virtual setting. Our staff is providing virtual workshops on topics such as finances, wellness, spiritual life, interviewing skills, mock interviews, and much more. Tidelands Health and Georgetown Kraft Credit Union have been amazing partners. In addition, our program leaders are making weekly calls to each YEP student.
Since our Day Dental Clinic opened the first week in November 2019, we have serviced 267 clients. Our dental clinic is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, but we predict a big demand when we re-open.
We have an amazing staff and dedicated volunteers who continue to press on for our community.
Because of friends like you who support our organization, we are in a great position to continue our services to those who need help in our community. However, in order for these services to continue, we need your help on Palmetto Giving Day. Helping Hands of Georgetown has a goal to raise $125,000 dollars. WILL YOU PLEASE HELP US? At this time, we have $43,500 dollars in incentive funds. For every dollar donated, it will be matched up to $43,500 dollars.
Mark your calendar to make a donation online on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, by using the link below. Online donations will be extended to noon on May 6, 2020, this is an extra 12 hours of giving. If you wish to write a check, we need to receive it by Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Our mailing address is 1813 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
